I was able to get all the nuts/bolts loose easily with my Deep 14mm socket and about 8 inches of extensions on my breaker bar EXCEPT the nut closest to the frame (the one 'between' the pipes). I of course PB Blastered all the nuts and bolts a few days before hand. OK, so what should have been a simple bolt-in job took me about 6 hours and more curse words than I thought I knew. I thought I had read somewhere that the exhaust manifold had studs, but I forgot where or if I had made that up.ĭo you have part numbers, or did you just tell the dealer what you needed and they hooked you up? I needed my impact gun to free the nuts, and to use it I needed multiple extension and my impact universals. Make your life easier and remove the cross member that support the trans (support the trans first obviously) to make removal/install easy. Not sure if a hardware store would have them, maybe a Napa etc. I highly recommend buying at least new nuts. Didn't need the studs as mine stayed put in the manifold and the threads looked great. I bought new hardware and studs from the dealer, about $2 each. The cat bolts to the muffler via bolts thru the cat into the supprt bracket that has captured nuts on it. The manifold has threaded studs that the cat slips over. There are 3 nuts on the manifold end and 2 bolts on the muffler end. Just replaced mine with a Magnaflow bolt in.
